My son has suggested that we make a Christmas
dinner with a "Twelve Days of Christmas" theme.
Yes! Although, after reviewing the lyrics,
this may be a fowl-heavy meal:

On the twelfth day of Christmas
my true love sent to me:
12 Drummers Drumming
Eleven Pipers Piping
Ten Lords a Leaping
Nine Ladies Dancing
Eight Maids a Milking
Seven Swans a Swimming
Six Geese a Laying
Five Golden Rings
Four Calling Birds
Three French Hens
Two Turtle Doves
and a Partridge in a Pear Tree

There may be a bit of interpretation involved.
Fun!
Suggestions welcome.

  1. Yes! And the 12 Drummers Drumming might even have pairs of Drumsticks, giving you 24 extra fowl pieces to contend with.

  3. A pear tart or tartine in the shape of a tree -- Christmas tree?

  4. The eight maids a milking is a challenge though. Something with milk chocolate? Cookies in the shape of maids plus cows?

  5. Five golden rings = onion rings - in my book.
Two turtle doves = Dove Bars!

  6. Kat has a good suggestion for 12 & Susan for 5, but 9-11 seem tough!

  7. Lemme see....we have onion rings, milk chocolate, dove bars, cookies, a pear tart, drumsticks. Okay, so it's not all fowl: we have desserts too. Don't forget the ladyfingers!
