August


A hazy Sunday afternoon at Washington Park Aboretum.
The sunlight, which occasionally broke through,
was oddly amber-colored...caused, I heard,
by wildfires in British Columbia.

These webs were like translucent nets
tossed across foliage, bearing accumulations
of midsummer dust, fir needles, petals --

I love what Willow said -- now of course I'm thinking of the novel!! So grand, so strange. I love seeing pictures of the unexpected, like these spider webs.

Nice, T.! I've seen webs like these and they're devilishly hard to photograph, especially with my digital.
