In Sotherby's London they used to have a framed letter from a woman who wished to sell a 'crucifixion' painting. She wrote 'I'm not sure who it's by, but his initials are INRI'. It's true; I saw it.

I have a books on cemeteries. I now need to go look up the meaning of that bird!
