What odd names have your given your pets?
Here are some of mine:
-George
-Molly
-Alex
-Alice (aka Deedles, Dee, The Dee Kitten)
-Sarah
-Tom Kitten
-Sally MacLennane
(While these are not odd names in and of themselves,
I find it odd when we give animals human names.)
-Phloem (the part of a vascular bundle consisting of
sieve tubes, companion cells, parenchyma, and fibers
forming the food-conducting tissue of a plant.)
-Xylophone (aka Xylene)
-Tip (aka Notorious T.I.P., Tip O'Neill,
They Call Me Mistuh Tip)
-Flip (aka Flink)
-Marble Cake
I'd love to hear more pet names
from whoever wishes to contribute!
Buffer, RingChing, Puppy (for a kitten), Hickety (for here, kitty), Pan, M.E (for mouse eater), Danke, Wildman (because he was), Tigger-Lou (collaborative name).
ReplyDeleteMelinda: "Hickety"!!!
ReplyDeleteMax Headroom, Pantages, Beethoven, The Evil Orlando, Paris the Genius Cat and of course, Bantu. All cats. And we had a duck without a breastbone named Bucket.
ReplyDeleteTammany and Shadow (both cats). Sally is named after the song Sally MacLennane, but her name is just plain Sally.
ReplyDeleteTomTom, SueSue, Rajicat, Loose fur, Lucille,Blackcat, Grey Cat, Kotter, Paw Boy, all these were cat names. Dog names.....Rachel, Marta, Charlie.
ReplyDeleteAnd probably a few more I am not remembering at this moment.
Ricky (his sister was Lucy).
ReplyDeleteOur current cats are named Pinky -- we weaned her as a kitten and her belly was pink, and Twitchy -- a stray given to us by a neighbor. We didn't know what to name him, were thinking about Itchy or Scratchy (from The Simpsons) and saw him asleep and twitching his claws.
How could I forget Ethyl who was found at a gas station?
ReplyDeleteWhen I was a kid we had a dog named George, and a cat nammed Winnie.
ReplyDeleteDean used to raise Great Danes and named them after his favorite Neil Diamond songs: Shilo, Sweet Caroline, Cracklin" Rosie, Brother Love . . . etc.
Siamese cats Ratsky and Ting, cockerpoo-ish dog Fluffy, Molly the black cat , Prader the fat cat (named for the disease, Prader-Willy, that requires a lock on the fridge for uncontrolled eating as the cat did), Charlotte and Lucy standard poodles, and Wishabelle the kitten that ran/got away when still very young.
