Been thinking a lot about pie lately.
While deeply into one of these reveries
one night last week, N. called me and asked
for my recipe for strawberry-rhubarb pie.
Then Robin served us "bruised-berry pie"
for dessert on her house on Friday. So
today it's Easter Pie Day. And I mean officially.
Unfortunately for N. and myself, who crave
strawberry-rhubarb pie, Whole Floods didn't
have any rhubarb. Fortunately for Paul and R.,
they had plenty of frozen blueberries and bags
of mixed frozen berries, so "bruised-berry"
it shall be. Oh, and by the way, pie is its own
foodgroup.
I believe the best answer to the question "What's your favorite pie" is simply "pie." Having said that both strawberry rhubarb & brusied berry sound delicious.
ReplyDeleteAmen!
ReplyDeleteT, You crack me up! Whole Floods!
ReplyDeleteIt can only be "bruised berry" if the berries are black and blue!!
ReplyDeleteRobin -- that's what Paul calls it. He used to shop at the original one in Austin, which was beside a river which often flooded, thus....
ReplyDeleteAs for the pie, if there had been any white berries in it, I could have called it a Barry White. :)
