Evanescent

I ran across this sentence that my son R. wrote as part of a spelling assignment when he was in 5th grade (the spelling word was "brief"):

We were golden for a brief moment.

---

And by Robert Frost:

Nothing Gold Can Stay

Nature's first green is gold,
Her hardest hue to hold.
Her early leaf's a flower;
But only so an hour.
Then leaf subsides to leaf.
So Eden sank to grief,
So dawn goes down to day.
Nothing gold can stay.

---

My advice to you:

Be golden today.

  7. sussah, I should tell him about it. He doesn't read my blog because he says then he'd know everything that I had to say before I said it. Hrmph. (Dare I say he's wrong!)

  8. Not a thought I would have had, without your (and your son's) prompting. To be golden...a worthy goal for any day.
